Letter: Nevadans should regret re-electing dishonest Bush
Friday, Feb. 11, 2005 | 4:03 a.m.
WEEKEND EDITION
February 12 - 13, 2005
Our president is now on the attack against Sen. Harry Reid, who has continually championed the state of Nevada. Mr. Bush has fed us lies from his first presidential campaign on. He lied to the people of Nevada about Yucca Mountain and yet carried the state in both elections. I wonder if Nevada residents now regret that.
He lied about WMD in Iraq and threw us into an unnecessary war costing billions of dollars and the loss of many young men and women who never dreamed they would be thrown into such a quagmire.
He lied about our "secure" borders, although three million people have made it illegally through them. Now he wants to give them privileges that many legal immigrants have worked so hard to obtain.
President Bush now wants to usurp the money we receive from the sale of local federal lands. I hope Sens. Reid and John Ensign, and Rep. Shelley Berkley do not let this happen.
My question now is: You don't suppose he could be lying about Social Security, do you?
