Last week's big news was an 18-pound striped bass that was caught by a boater off Horsepower Cove following the rainbow trout plant. Stripers that weighed 15 and 10 pounds were taken at North Saddle Cove.
One shore angler reported catching small numbers of stripers from Pumphouse Cove to Saddle Cove. Some of the fish weighed more than 5 pounds.
The action has slowed in the Las Vegas Wash area. Even so, most have been able to reel in a few fish by chumming and fishing with anchovies.
NDOW was scheduled to stock trout today at Hemenway, Horsepower, Pumphouse and North Saddle coves.
