Several incumbents face no challenges

A handful of local City Council incumbents and Municipal Court judges get free passes to another term because their re-elections remained unchallenged at the end of the candidate-filing period on Friday.
Also on the last day to file to run in the spring elections, the husband of North Las Vegas Councilwoman Shari Buck filed to run for a spot on the Municipal Court bench, and two more candidates entered the crowded race to replace Las Vegas Councilman Michael Mack.
Those automatically considered re-elected because they drew no challengers are Las Vegas Councilmen Larry Brown and Steve Wolfson, North Las Vegas Councilman Robert Eliason, Henderson Councilman Jack Clark, North Las Vegas Municipal Judge Warren Van Landschoot and Las Vegas Municipal Judges George Assad and Betsy Kolkoski.
Mack announced in December he would not seek re-election to the Ward 6 seat.
With 11 candidates the campaign to replace him is the most crowded field for the spring elections in Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Boulder City.
The Las Vegas Ward 6 candidates are Troy P. Bulloch, Debbie Kitterman, Jeff Crisman, Mary Gillins, Robert D. Glover, city Planning Commissioner Byron Goynes, Gary L. Ratliff, Marlene Rogoff, Steven Ross, Anthony M. "Tony" Salas, and Steve "Devil Dog" Sanson.
In the only contested Las Vegas Municipal Court campaign, incumbent Cedric Kerns will face Mat Harter.
In Henderson, Mayor Jim Gibson faces challengers Susan Gillean-Bedell and Laurie Robinson in his re-election bid.
And in Henderson's newly created third Municipal Court, the candidates are David S. Gibson Jr., the mayor's nephew; Diana Hampton; Kenneth Walter Long and Michael L. Miller.
North Las Vegas Mayor Michael Montandon also faces a re-election challenger in Andres Ramirez, and Councilwoman Stephanie Smith will face Jean Withers.
For the city's newly created Municipal Court Department 2, the candidates are Keith Buck, husband of Councilwoman Shari Buck; Willia Chaney; Marcia Daines; Ronald Dean Dalrymple; Sean Hoeffgen; Christopher Larotonda and Robert Nelson-Kortland
In Boulder City, two incumbent City Council members plus three challengers are vying for two spots on the council. The candidates are incumbents Mike Pacini and Andrea Anderson, plus Jeremy F. Lilly, Philip A. de Langis, and Bradley Farmer.
In Boulder City, unlike in the other cities, all of the council candidates will vie for two spots, with the top two vote-getters winning election.
