Karin Austin

Karin Austin, 41, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. An administrative secretary at the Nevada Test Site, she was born Nov. 1, 1963, in New Haven, Conn.

She is survived by her husband, Aaron; two daughters, Kristin and Amber, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Carmella Filipelli, and one sister, Kathy, both of Connecticut; and three brothers, Steve and Raymond, both of Las Vegas, and Richard of Connecticut.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Gary Owen Daniels

Gary Owen Daniels, 50, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 23, 1954, in Billings, Mont. A resident for 10 years, he was an automobile mechanic.

He is survived by one daughter, Jamie Daniels of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be Saturday at the family residence. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Jacqueline Feink

Jacqueline Feink, 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1965, in Henderson. A lifelong resident of Southern Nevada, she was a retail clerk at a craft store.

She is survived by one sister, Sandy Feink of Las Vegas.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Annie H. Gonzales

Annie H. Gonzales, 94, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 21, 1911, in Arkansas. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sue Gonzales; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Marshell Gordon

Marshell Gordon, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 6, 1922, in Pentotoc, Miss. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired railroad fireman.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; one son, Marshell Gordon Jr. of Las Vegas; two daughters, Antonia Kennedy of Las Vegas and Shellsie Crawford of Michigan; one brother, Tresie Gordon, and one sister, Lois McLaun, both of Tennessee; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Powerhouse Church of God in Christ, 1216 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Gene P. Hansel

Gene P. Hansel, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 23, 1937, in Ohio. A resident for 17 years, he was a truck driver and a member of Teamsters Local 631.

He is survived by his companion, Barb Treible; five sons, Mike, Kevin, Paul, Ron and Dan; seven daughters, Helene, Nannette, Sheri, Brenda, Diane, Robin and Rozabeth; 24 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held in Ohio. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Linda Ordine Jensen

Linda Ordine Jensen, 50, of Las Vegas died Jan. 25 in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1954, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident of Las Vegas for 22 years, she was a licensed practical nurse.

She is survived by three sons, Jonathan of Las Vegas, Christopher of Goodsprings and Eric of Pahrump; one daughter, Jennifer of Las Vegas; her parents, Fred and Maryanna Ordine of Pahrump; one brother, Stephen Ordine of Las Vegas; one sister, Deborah Langston of Goodsprings; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the LDS chapel in Pahrump. Neptune Society of Nye County, is handling arrangements.

Emma J. Kelly

Emma J. Kelly, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Mitchell, S.D. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired sewing operator for a manufacturing company.

She is survived by one son, Fredrick Kelly of Fontana, Calif.; one daughter, Emma J.I. Kelly of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Dawn M. Fettig of Broomfield, Colo.; three sisters, Jeanette Wilde of Las Vegas, Mary J. Pavlik of Northridge, Calif., and Maryann L. Gatts of Olin, Iowa; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Sharon K. Laveglia

Sharon K. Laveglia, 53, of Las Vegas, died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 17, 1951, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; one son, Frank Laveglia Jr. of Las Vegas; two daughters, Jolene Laveglia of California and Lizette Laveglia of Las Vegas; her mother, Barbara of Brooklyn; and one sister, Barbara of Florida.

John A. McCoy

John A. McCoy, 60, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 8, 1944, in Salem, Ohio. A resident for 26 years, he was a casino shift manager and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Allen-McCoy; two daughters, Marissa McCoy of North Las Vegas and Kimberly Graham of Lisbon, Ohio; one son, Mark McCoy of Clearwater, Fla.; his mother, Ida McCoy of Beloit, Ohio; one sister, Cathy Dodson of Salem; one brother, Donald McCoy of Eight Mile, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 301 S. Maryland Parkway. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Menzies McDougall

Menzies McDougall, 85, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Perth, Scotland. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired home siding contractor.

He is survived by two sons, William H. McDougall of Odessa, Fla., and David M. McDougall of Randolph, N.J.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Elwood Morrison

Elwood Morrison, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 8, 1933, in Bono, Ohio. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired casino soft counter and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Morrison of Las Vegas.

Julia Patterson

Julia Patterson, 82, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Archie Patterson and Richard Patterson, both of Las Vegas, and Billy Patterson of North Las Vegas; three daughters, Doris Mosley of North Las Vegas and Joan Patterson and Deloris White, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Carver Missionary Baptist Church, 1221 N. J St. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Memorial Park.

Carlos E. Nova Pinto

Carlos E. Nova Pinto, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 20, 1952, in Guatamala. A resident for many years, he was a general laborer.

He is survived by his father, Elias H. Nova; and his mother, Guadalupe Pinto.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Verna Shoen

Verna Shoen, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Anaconda, Mont. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, George W.; two daughters, Robin Williamson of Carson City and Lynn R. Shoen of Las Vegas; three sons, Ed Shoen of Carlsbad, Calif., Brad Shoen of San Diego and Lance Shoen of Las Vegas; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Marie E. Steed

Marie E. Steed, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born July 23, 1924, in Hackensack, N.J. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Cheryl Ridgeway of Indian Harbor, Fla., Jamie Verhulst of Blaine, Wash., Georgee Shinton of Cypress, Calif., and Hazel Coningford of Las Vegas; one son, Frank Converse of Durant, Okla.; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

John W. Vincent

John W. Vincent, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired long haul truck driver and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Carole LaRocca.

Bonnie Weekley, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 28, 1949, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired gaming dispatcher.

She is survived by her husband, Leo; one son, Brian Kizer, one daughter, Dawn Vincent, her parents, Barbara and Page Bleak, and one brother, Steve Bleak, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Sue Thompson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones.

Virginia Wilson

Virginia Wilson, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born May 22, 1941, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Colleen Madden of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
