More file for positions on election ballots

Friday, Feb. 4, 2005 | 11:19 a.m.

With four more candidates filing Thursday to run in the spring municipal elections; Henderson's mayor now faces a re-election campaign, Boulder City will have a primary election; and the newly created Department 2 North Las Vegas Municipal Court has become a six-person field.

Laurie Robinson filed to run against Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson, giving the mayor his first opponent in his bid for re-election.

In Boulder City Bradley Farmer filed as a City Council candidate on the last day for candidates to file in that city. The other candidates are incumbents Mike Pacini and Andrea Anderson, and Jeremy F. Lilly and Philip A. de Langis.

In Boulder City, unlike in the other cities, all the council candidates will vie for two spots, with the top two vote-getters winning election. The primary election will be held to whittle the field to four.

Ronald Dean Dalrymple and Sean Hoeffgen filed Thursday to run in the North Las Vegas race for the newly created Department 2 municipal court. The other candidates they will face are Marcia Daines, Robert Nelson-Kortland, Christopher Larotonda and Willia Chaney.

Candidates in Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas have until today to file to run.

At stake are some seats on the city councils, Municipal Court benches and the mayors' offices in North Las Vegas and Henderson. The cities' primary elections will be on April 5, with early voting from March 19 to April 1. The general elections will be June 7, with early voting from May 21 to June 3.

In all the cities, if a candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote in a primary election they are declared the winner.
