LV Marines help to protect supply routes in Fallujah

Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 | 8:35 a.m.

Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Bradley Fleegle, son of John Fleegle of Las Vegas, and Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Roberson, a 2002 graduate of Eldorado High School, are with more than 2,100 Marines and sailors assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

That unit recently joined in the sweep of Fallujah. The Marines have since committed to ensuring the security and stability in the cities Kandari and Nasar Wa Salam.

Members of Fleegle and Roberson's unit have conducted more than 120 patrols, 13 platoon-reinforced raids and a company reinforced search of Kandari, military officials said. Most importantly, the unit insured that the 1st Marine Division did not have to worry about its rear supply routes and communications during the fight in Fallujah, military officials said.
