Zoning approved for hospice

The Henderson City Council approved a zoning change for a planned Henderson branch of Nathan Adelson Hospice.

The plan is for a 35,700-square-foot hospice with 16 beds and a 7,000-square-foot adult day center. The hospice will occupy 11 acres near the end of Nevada State Drive in the Mission Hills area.

Council approves land exchange

A land exchange between Henderson and Wildhorse Enterprises was formally approved.

The city is trading roughly 126 acres -- 60 acres north of Sunset Road and west of Whitney Ranch and two parcels totaling 66 acres on Horizon Ridge Parkway east of Gibson Road -- for a 137-acre golf course on Warm Springs Road east of Green Valley Parkway and owned by Wildhorse.

New homes OK'd

A 16.5-acre home development along Horizon Ridge Parkway between Valare Street and Viento Puntero Drive, east of Stephanie Street, was approved on Tuesday. Plans include 63 homes on lots ranging from 6,600 square feet to nearly 14,000 square feet.
