Mayor offers walks through LV history
As part of the yearlong Las Vegas Centennial celebration, Mayor Oscar Goodman invites the public to learn more about downtown and its history and get in shape by participating in Centennial Walks from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
All walks will start at the City Hall plaza, 400 Stewart Ave., and will take place through the downtown area.

Military history author Bill McWilliams
will speak at the Nevada Republican Men's Club membership luncheon 11:30 a.m. Monday at Ellis Island Casino. Admission is $15. Call 869-9903 or 361-6002.
Author Guy Finley will speak on his new book,
"Let Go and Live in the Now," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Boulder Theater, 1225 Arizona St., in Boulder City. The talk will give helpful exercises and insights into dealing with problems, stress and discouraging thoughts and feeling. Call 292-3171.
