His group is calling on casino owners to install better filtration systems to circulate fresh air into gaming establishments.
Writer revives Nevada stories
When the frigid December winds blow off Myers Mountain overlooking Goldfield in Esmeralda County, it reminds some of a warm, timeless story of one special Christmas during the early 20th century in that future Nevada ghost town.
Editorial: Trouncing a political scheme
House and Senate negotiators, at the strong urging of Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, had agreed to place a provision authorizing the drilling within the unrelated defense budget bill. The scheme passed the House, and Frist believed he had enough support in the Senate to override a Democratic filibuster.
Editorial: Humbug or true holiday spirit?

The black Christmas tree with blinking skeleton lights and broken-toy ornaments is the first indication that the holiday art exhibit at MTZC in the Commerce Street Studios is not so jolly.
Columnist Tom Gorman: On an entertaining marriage
People who have seen the top-drawer production shows "O" and "Le Reve" can't resist comparing their aquatic and aerial themes. Each show is breathtakingly staged, blending brawn and ballet with fanciful costuming and haunting music.
