Letter: Alaska senator’s behavior is reprehensible
Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 | 7:39 a.m.
Whether you think we should or should not drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, you must know that members of our government will do anything to get their way.
The proposal to drill has been defeated numerous times, but Ted Stevens, a U.S. senator from Alaska, is using backdoor tactics to again attempt approval.
All citizens should be outraged, especially now in a time of war, that Stevens is allowed to attach this new proposal to a defense bill, a bill that funds our troops.
