Letter: Bush doesn’t care about global warming
Monday, Dec. 19, 2005 | 8:43 a.m.
Shame on the Bush administration. The U.N. Climate Change ("Global Warming") conference in Montreal recently ended, again with the U.S. not cooperating with the rest of the world.
World scientists, environmentalists and leaders from over 200 countries agree that there are potentially disastrous global climate changes due to greenhouse gases, yet the present U.S. government is unwilling to do what is necessary to protect our environment.
The Bush administration is anti-environmental and only wants to protect the corporate cronies, so instead we will all suffer the environmental consequences.
Fortunately, nearly 200 enlightened U.S. mayors, including our own Mayor Oscar Goodman, have so far signed the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement to combat the threatening climatic changes.
