Letter: Tax cuts to rich serve no purpose
Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 | 7:42 a.m.
Why are Republicans insisting on giving tax cuts to the rich? They serve no purpose to taxpayers. The "tax cuts" don't go anywhere except in wealthy pockets. The nation would then be sent further into debt. We may not recover from this.
Bush and Republicans are irresponsible to poor people but love the rich. They don't know a thing about the poor people. (I'll bet the wealthy members of Bush's and Cheney's families will receive tax cuts.)
The grandchildren will have to pay the Republican debt for the next 10 to 14 generations. Bush is trying to grab money from the states to pay for his hog-wild war and irresponsible squandering of spending.
Bush has been steadily destroying the middle class and now he is trying to destroy the little people, the middle class that has been the leading financial builders of the U.S.
Our troops don't even receive their equipment because it is pillaged from their supplies. Their armor was never reinforced. What kind of people are we tolerating in government? When are we American people going to turn out the Republicans who are responsible for every law they have messed up? They are not capable of governing. The country is split in two because of them and the religious influences imposed upon us.
