Chin-Feng Chen and Brian Myrow came up with the big hits as Las Vegas edged Tacoma, 9-8, on Tuesday night at Cashman Field.

After Nick Theodorou struck out to lead off the bottom of the eighth, the 51s produced three consecutive singles, including a base hit by Chen that plated the go-ahead run.

One inning earlier, Myrow slugged a three-run homer to put Las Vegas in front, 8-7. Jose Flores went 3-for-4 with a walk and scored three times from the top of the 51s' lineup. Chen, Myrow and Cody Ross each scored twice.

Pat Mahomes (9-9) evened his record with the win, despite allowing two runs on four hits over three innings. He walked two and struck out one.

Shin-Soo Choo doubled, tripled and drove in three runs for the Rainiers. Ryan Christianson was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, but Tacoma had its lead trimmed to two games over second-place Salt Lake in the Pacific Coast League Pacific North Division.

Michael Bumstead (2-3) took the loss, allowing the go-ahead run on three hits in one inning.
