Kilroy's Hockey Club, which is made of players over 35 years old, will play hockey at 7:15 and 8:45 every Monday evening in the Fiesta's ice arena.
The club currently has four teams and is looking for qualified players to bring the total to six teams. Funds to support the local ALS of Nevada Association are raised through membership fees, on ice events and an annual charity golf tournament. For more information, call 325-7772.
Web site features Las Vegas history
Las Vegas' new Web site has an added feature for local history buffs. Visitors to the Web site at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/planning will now find information on nearly 20 historic locations throughout the city.
The new Web pages, part of the Planning Department section of the site, are part of a larger program outlined in the city's Historic Prevention Plan to increase public awareness of the history of Las Vegas.
The Web pages provide information about historic sites in Las Vegas and related links to county, state, federal and non-profit resources, as well as libraries and international preservation organizations. The site also provides information regarding the city's historic preservation ordinance, current membership listing for the Historic Preservation Commission, information regarding how to list historic properties on the local, state and national registers of historic places, financial incentives for listing, events and the Historic Preservation Commission's quarterly newsletter, The Historic Connection.
