DES MOINES, Iowa -- A fire today shut down the Iowa Lottery office, but lottery officials said sales won't be affected.
Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer said a transformer in the building began to smoke about 9 a.m.
All lottery workers were evacuated and it was unknown when they would be allowed to return, Neubauer said.
No one was hurt.
