FORT MADISON, Iowa -- Jerry Lee Wichman went to Catfish Bend Casino for a prime rib dinner, but he ended up leaving as a millionaire.
Wichman, a retired carpenter from Keokuk, hit the jackpot on a progressive slot machine on Thursday and won more than $1.1 million.
"I was shaking and yelling when I hit the jackpot," Wichman said. "We just came to the casino for Prime Rib Night."
Wichman said he played a little more than $60 before hitting the jackpot.
"I was just hoping to win $500," he said. "This will allow us to pay our bills, spoil our grandkids and take a vacation."
Wichman won playing the MegaJackpot Wheel of Fortune game, which is based on the popular TV game.
