A 30-year-old Las Vegas man was shot and killed on Saturday at around 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store at 4158 Koval Lane near Flamingo Road, Metro Police said.
Robert Lee Thomas was a bystander and the bullets were intended for someone else, Metro Police said. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital but died as a result of his injuries.
Police said that about five men in a Dodge or Chrysler got into an argument with a man who was walking northbound on Koval.
One of the men in the vehicle started shooting at the pedestrian but the pedestrian dropped to the ground and avoided the bullets, police said.
Thomas, however, was shot as he stood in the parking lot of the convenience store speaking with friends, Metro Sgt. Rocky Alby said.
Metro has surveillance tape of the incident that shows the suspects and the vehicle prior to the shooting, Metro stated.
