Services set for Horner
Friday, Aug. 19, 2005 | 9:59 a.m.
Services for Southern Nevada family rights activist Jane Horner will be 1 p.m. Aug. 27 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
Horner, a Boulder City resident and founder of Grandparents As Parents of Southern Nevada, died Monday at age 68.
After two of her grandchildren were left in her care in 2000, she became the driving force behind passage in 2001 of Nevada's kinship care law that provides financial assistance to Nevadans age 62 and older to care for their grandchildren who have been left in their custody.
Her family has established a tribute website in which donations can be made through PayPal at www.adrivenforce.com/jane.htm
