Nevada Power Co. recently awarded facility improvement grants to 17 nonprofit agencies that will now complete weatherization and/or energy-efficient retrofit projects to help reduce their operational costs for energy.

These agencies received grants:

The Animal Foundation, Blind Center of Nevada, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, Center for Independent Living, Chabad of Southern Nevada, Community Counseling Center, Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada, Easters Seals Southern Nevada, First Christian Church, Huntridge Teen Clinic, Las Vegas Rescue Mission and Shelter of Hope, Nevada Association of Latin Americans, Nevada Children's Center, Nevada Health Centers, SAFE House and YMCA of Southern Nevada Durango Hills and Heinrich.
