Sonia Sophie Alden
Sonia Sophie Alden, 89, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born March 19, 1916, in New York City. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker an a member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She is survived by one son, Gary Wade Alden of New York City.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Barry Gordon Bergquist
Barry Gordon Bergquist, 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 1, 1965, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a sheet metal journeyman, a member of Local 88, a graduate of Rancho High School, and recently earned his bachelor's degree in business. He served as an LDS Elders Quorum president and served two years in on mission in Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Abby; three sons, Adam, Jake and Brock; two daughters, Tess and Bryn; his parents, Gordon and Kathi; three brothers, Brad, Brent and Bryce; four sisters, Becky Frogley, Lori Swainston, Annie Burns and Jennifer Gossard; one stepbrother, Rob Bunker; and three stepsisters, Becci Hadfield, Joni Crompton and Tausha Torrez.
Visitation is scheduled 6-9 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be one hour prior to a noon service Friday in the LDS chapel at Monte Cristo and Oakey Boulevard . A private burial will follow.

Herman Lee DeJohnette
Herman Lee DeJohnette, 59, of Las Vegas died Aug. 5 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Louisiana. A resident for 42 years, he was a hotel custodian.
He is survived by four sisters, Carolyn DeJohnette, Dianne DeJohnette, Angela DeJohnette-McFarland and Edna D. DeJohnette, and one brother, Michael W. DeJohnette, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.
Salvatore J. LiCausi
Salvatore J. LiCausi, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. A retired machinist inspector for the federal government and a member of the Italian American Club, he was born July 10, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; two daughters, Donna Harmon and Diane McDowell, and two sons, Lawrence LiCausi and Jim LiCausi, all of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Frances Makowsky
Frances Makowsky, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Scranton, Pa. A resident for five years, she was a retired retail store auditor.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dean Makowsky.
She is survived by one son, Ray Makowsky of Las Vegas; two daughters, Lynette Padget of North Las Vegas and Linda Lee of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Lois J. Silas
Lois J. Silas, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 10, 1940, in Shreveport, La. A resident for 28 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Lloyd R. Silas Jr., Tommy Laban Silas and and Lamar R. Silas, all of Las Vegas; one daughter, Regina Winston of Granite City, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to Safe Nest Women's Shelter, P.O. Box 43264, Las Vegas, NV 89116.
Mabel Bernice Wright
Mabel Bernice Wright, 81, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born June 16, 1924, in Michigan. A resident for one year, she was a juvenile counselor at a county youth home.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith A. Davis of North Las Vegas; one son, Gregory Maddox, and one sister, Thelma Addy, both of Michigan; one brother, Edsel Saunders of Virginia; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Michigan. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
