Letter: Palmeiro gets reward for lying

Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005 | 8:52 a.m.

Baseball's pretty boy, millionaire Rafael Palmeiro, got a 10-day suspension for using steroids. What a joke!

The only record he should be noted for is being a major-league liar. What an example he sets for the youth of this country: Lie and cheat and you'll go far in life. I guess that has become the creed in all aspects of American life.

If Palmeiro was my son, I'd hide my head in shame. I guess it could be worse, though. Some high-profile athletes get away with murder.
