Musical to benefit Red Cross programs
The third annual Red Cross Night at Spring Mountain Ranch will be held Sunday, featuring an outdoor performance of the musical "Guys and Dolls" to benefit the Red Cross.
Gates open at 6 p.m. The performance begins at 8 p.m. at the state park in Red Rock Canyon.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 791-3311; paying on-line at the Chapter's Website, www.redcrosslasvegas.org; and visiting the Chapter at 1771 E. Flamingo Road, Suite 206B. Tickets are also available at the UNLV ticket office and www.unlv.tickets.com.
The net proceeds of the event will benefit the Chapter's Disaster Relief and Armed Forces Emergency Services programs.
Red Rock plans Joshua Jubilee
Joshua Jubilee at Red Rock Canyon will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 pm. Sept. 3 at the Visitors Center.
The event will feature American Indian dancing, storytelling, kids crafts, flute demonstrations, interpretive talks and educational displays.
In addition to special appearances by Mojave Max, Smokey the Bear, and the working dogs of Clark County Search and Rescue, Bureau of Land Management firefighters with a fire truck will be there.

Visual messages subject of meeting
The International Association of Business Communicators Las Vegas will host a luncheon on visual presentations Sept. 9 at the Las Vegas Country Club, 3000 Joe W. Brown Drive.
Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and the presentation following at noon.
Photographers Gary Zee and Eric Jamison of Opulence Studios will discuss how visual communication can break down barriers in a time-crunched world, the power of a good photo, how to get more out of a photographer, and how to pick a "hero" shot.
Attendance is $23 for members and students; $28 for guests. Reservations must be made by 5 p.m. Sept. 7, by sending an email to: elainelasvegas@yahoo.com.
Fashion designers will be showcased
Las Vegas, in conjunction with the Clark County Library District, will showcase some of the area's premiere fashion designers and opportunities to open a business in the city during "Entrepreneurs Under Construction Fashion Showcase" from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the West Las Vegas Theatre, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
The event will showcase fashion trends created by some of the city's most talented designers.
Also at the event, staff from the city's Business Licensing Department will present information on how to open a business in the city.
Staff will be available to answer any questions regarding the business licensing process within the city of Las Vegas.
Staff will also have the resources to assist individuals in the application process, including instruction sheets and maps.

Family to Family Connection
is celebrating National Breastfeeding Month during the month of August. The center provides free breastfeeding services including personal lactation consultations and breastfeeding support groups at their center at 6114 W. Charleston Blvd. office. Free in-home visits to nursing mothers are offered in specific neighborhoods in West Las Vegas. For more information, call 870-9583.
