CPR, first-aid classes offered
Cardi-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first-aid classes for ages 16-adult will be offered at the times and locations listed for a $25 fee. Receive a two-year certification accepted by Clark County School District. Register in advance.
Aid for AIDS hosts party at the Palms
AFAN, Aid for AIDS of Nevada, will host its 19th annual Black and White Party 8 p.m. Aug. 27 inside Skin Pool Lounge at the Palms Casino. All proceeds benefit members of the community who are HIV positive or living with AIDS.
Admission is $45 and include access to main event poolside, drink tickets and unlimited restaurant samplings. VIP tickets also include access to the pre-party at the Ghostbar, which begins at 6 p.m., and early entrance to the main event.
Tickets are available at 2300 S. Rancho Drive, Suite 211 or Website www.afanlv.org and at "Stuff" include the Palms.
Direct client-services include food programs and prevention/educations programs. In addition, AFAN works to educate the general public about HIV/AIDS in order to reduce HIV infection and eliminate fear, prejudice, stigma and ignorance. Call 382-2326.
Children invited to attend bus camp
Children ages 8-16 are invited to attend Adaptive H20 Hijinx Bus Camp Aug. 15-19. Youth of all abilities will participate in a variety of onsite activities and field trips.

Support group hosts guest speaker
Jack Gould, Ph.D, will be speaking at the Las Vegas FMS/CFS Support Group meeting titled "Migun Thermal Massage Bed (helps control the pain of FMS/ CFS)" scheduled 3-5 p.m. Aug. 14 at the cafeteria dining room at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, 2075 E. Flamingo Road.

AARP offers mature driving program
The City of Las Vegas is offering an AARP 55 Alive/Mature Driving program from 5-9 p.m. Aug. 15 and 16 and from 1-5 p.m. Aug. 17 and 24, all at the Las Vegas Senior Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road.
Nevada law allows for a discount on auto insurance premiums when the course is successfully completed. Call 257-9555 to register.
