Letter: Lawmakers’ kids should go to Iraq
Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 | 9:16 a.m.
I totally agree with Patricia Ducharme's Sunday letter, which suggested that President Bush's twin daughters ought to enlist in the military to fight the war in Iraq.
I would like to suggest that all the senators and representatives who voted for this war sign up their eligible children for the military. The American people did not want this war, but they are sacrificing their children for it.
Members of Congress need to show America how committed they are to this war. We are asked to sacrifice our children, but they are not. What kind of message does that send to the American people?
