In regard to Republic Services' new proposal for garbage and recycling pickup: If it isn't broke, why fix it?

I am astounded that executives at the company would think that I would believe that our level of collection service would not be decreased under this proposal.

Reducing trash collection from twice a week to once a week is a reduction of service. It would not be any less of a reduction under the proposal's plan to increase recycling pickups from once every two weeks to once a week. Recycling every other week has worked well.

The crews that work our neighborhood are excellent and the current trash and recycle pickup schedule is perfect. Why "fix" it? I don't want our neighborhood appearing as a trash dump, which it might if garbage were only picked up once a week.
