Touch-A-Truck on tap Saturday

Touch-A-Truck, an event that allows children to get up close and personal with their favorite big rigs, fire trucks, police cars, construction trucks and more will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Challenger School parking lot, 9900 Isaac Newton Way (formerly Shiloh School Lane).

Children can look at, explore, climb on, sit inside and take pictures with the trucks they see every day on the roads. This is an activity for both boys and girls.

Proceeds benefit Family to Family Connection, Las Vegas West, a nonprofit organization that empowers and supports families in Nevada to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children through parent education and community networking.

Admission is only $5; children under two-years-old are free. To register or to get more information on the event, call 870-9583.

A multigenerational fashion show

to celebrate Las Vegas mothers at the first Mommy and Tea event, will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Fashion Show mall, with proceeds benefitting the Sunrise Children's Foundation. The event will feature a fashion show by Nordstrom, pastry demonstrations, and deluxe gift bags. Tickets are $15. To RSVP, call 369-0704.

From Wednesday to May 8,

participating McDonald's restaurants will be selling pink paper ribbons for $1, as part of their annual commitment to helping fund a cure for breast cancer. All proceeds will be donated to fund breast cancer research, treatment and education at City of Hope Cancer Center. Call (800) 544-3541, ext. 26243.
