NLV Chamber plans breakfast meet

"Managing Difficult Employees and Avoiding the Litigation Trap" is the topic of a discussion from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday at Santa Fe Station during a breakfast given by the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

Admission for members is $17 prepaid or $22 at the door and $20 prepaid for nonmembers or $25 at the door.

Law Library plans Law Day tours

An open house to celebrate Law Day and the many services the Law Library has offered to the legal community and to the public at large for more than 75 years will be noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 309 S. Third St., Suite 400.

Refreshments will be served, tours will be provided and hourly drawings of legal prizes will take place. Clark County staff members will be available to answer questions about the various services offered, including the introduction of free Westlaw access, an online legal research service that provides quick, easy access to a vast collection of statutes, case law materials, public records and other legal resources, along with current news articles and business information, for all patrons.

Super Star Moms Day is scheduled

In recognition of the program "My Child Is Too Little to Have Cancer," Super Star Mom's Day will be 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 5 at the JCPenney Beauty Salon in the Boulevard mall.

The event offers a day of relaxation to 10 mothers who are facing the daily battle with childhood cancer. These mothers spend weeks at a time in the hospital caring for their child, while also holding things together at home.

JCPenney's is sponsoring the event and continues its support by donating haircuts and style, manicures, mini-facials and mini-massages for 10 mothers.

The fourth annual Karate Kicks for Leukemia
