StumbleDesert Springs Hospital CEO retires

Desert Springs Hospital Chief Executive Carl Fitch has retired.
Fitch's last day at the Universal Health Services Inc.-owned hospital was April 14 although he is on vacation and will remain on the payroll until the end of the month.
He replaced Karla Perez in late 2002 when she was selected as the chief executive of sister facility Spring Valley Hospital, which opened in October 2003.
Prior to joining Desert Springs, Fitch was president and chief executive of HCA Healthcare Services of Kansas in Wichita, Kan.,
Sam Kaufman, the hospital's chief operating officer, has taken the role of acting chief executive.
