The agent for receiver Rod Gardner met with coach Joe Gibbs, but there was no immediate resolution to Gardner's status with the team.
The Redskins gave Gardner permission to seek a trade earlier this offseason. Though several teams expressed interest, no team has agreed to either the Redskins' trade demands or Gardner's contract wishes. He's in the final year of his contract with Washington.
Gibbs, who called Monday's meeting positive, said the Redskins would not release Gardner. He also said he expects Gardner to attend the Redskins' May workouts and June minicamp.
"I would think he would be here," Gibbs said. "He has a contract."
Gardner's agent, Joel Segal, wouldn't comment on whether Gardner would attend those sessions. But he did say his client would play for the Redskins this season, if nothing is resolved.
"Sure, it's the team he's on right now," Segal said.
Segal, who also termed the meeting positive, was at Redskins Park representing one of Washington's first-round draft picks, Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell.

A two-year starter for the Hurricanes, Berlin completed 406 of 700 passes for 5,099 yards and 34 touchdowns.
Mixon was suspended for two games last season for violating the league's substance abuse policy and also was arrested for drunken driving three times in a 16-month span.
Boldin was the 2003 NFL offensive rookie of the year after being chosen in the second round, and believes he deserves first-round money.
"I think the significance is that he feels that he should have a new contract," coach Dennis Green said. "And we feel that he should have a new contract extension, too, so that hasn't changed."
