Marco A. Battista
Marco A. Battista, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired cement truck driver and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; two sons, Vito Battista of The Villages, Fla., and Vincent Battista of Las Vegas; one sister, Antoinette Dinardo of Cohoes, N.Y.; one brother, Louis Battista of Bensalem, Pa.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Hugh Joseph Conway
Hugh Joseph Conway, 88, of Las Vegas died April 14 in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 64 years, he was a retired casino owner.
He is survived by one son, Robert D. Conway, and one daughter, Rebecca Conway, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Dale Wheeler Conway of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; and two great-granchildren.
Mass will be celebrated 5 p.m. April 29 in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Margaret H. Cray
Margaret H. Cray, 66, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 23, 1938, in Alexandria, Va. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired buyer for the Water District.
She is survived by her husband, David R.; one son, Robert Cray of Henderson; and two sisters, Caroline Tinkham of Rockville, Md., and Elizabeth Canter of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Helen Ann Faccinto
Helen Ann Faccinto, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Hecla, Pa. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; two sons, Albert Faccinto Jr. and John Faccinto, and two daughters, Barbara Bowman and Mary Ann Mikulich, all of Las Vegas.
Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handling arrangements.

Arietta Hensler
Arietta Hensler, 77, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Flint, Mich. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; two sons, Craig Hensler of Redmond, Wash., and Blaine Hensler of Simi Valley, Calif.; one daughter, Teralee Ahmed of Lamar, Mo.; one sister, Delette Walker of Shaker Heights, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 6220 N. Jones Blvd. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Caroline M. Kolanowski
Caroline M. Kolanowski, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Stevens Point, Wis. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired leather sorter.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Ostrowski of Las Vegas and Dennis Ostrowski of Henderson; one daughter, Julie Feldman of Milwaukee; two sisters, Toni Brenzel of Milwaukee and Patricia Ostrowski of Las Vegas; two brothers, Robert Ostrowski of Las Vegas and Edward Ostrowski of Muskego, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Betty M. Rawlins
Betty M. Rawlins, 74, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1930, in Hilo, Hawaii. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Cody Rawlins of Seattle; two daughters, Deborah Quattrone and Earlette Benevedes, both of Henderson; her mother, Olivia Carvalho of Santa Clara, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 11 a.m. April 29 in Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., handled arrangements.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
Bobby Joe Rye
Bobby Joe Rye, 69, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Dec. 8, 1935, in London, Ark. A resident for seven years, he was a retired mechanical engineer for a dog food manufacturer, a Korean War Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion, Lions Club, American Contract Bridge League and Operating Engineers Local 501.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie; four sons, Frank Hawkins of Henderson, Keith Rye of Chino, Calif., Kevin Rye of Wrightwood, Calif., and Kirk Rye of Adelanto, Calif.; one brother, Elbert Rye of London; and five grandchildren.
Services will be in Arkansas. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Marcelina Sandusky, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 17, 1916, in Trementina, N.M. A resident for 63 years, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Curtis Sandusky.
She is survived by two sons, Gene Sandusky Jr. of Logandale and Kenneth Clay Sandusky of Las Vegas; two daughters, Carmen June Rhoda of Las Vegas and Norma Jane Hadland of Santa Cruz, Calif.; one sister, Mary Segura of El Paso, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley Memorial Park.

Ruth Bowne Starr, 89, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 29, 1915, in New York City. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Sip of Las Vegas; two sons, Greg Starr of Falls Church, Va., and Donald Starr of Jupiter, Fla.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Centennial Hills Ward. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Eugene 'Gene' Surowiec
Eugene "Gene" Surowiec, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 10, 1921, in Manhasset, N.Y. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired Air Force colonel and fighter pilot and World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Markus of Aviston, Ill., and Joyce Surowiec and Nancy Surowiec, both of Henderson; his significant other, Pat Gorman of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be two hours prior to a noon service Saturday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Rena E. Toupin
Rena E. Toupin, 42, of Las Vegas died March 28 in Las Vegas. She was born July 4, 1962, in Arizona. A resident for five years, she was an administrator for a title company.
She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Phyllis Murphy; and five sisters, Carol, Nancy, Ruth, Cindy and Edie.

Jean Ward
Jean Ward, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 9, 1928, in Beaver Dam, Ky. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandi Wheeler of Las Vegas; and one son, Kelly Ward of Dodgeville, Wis.
Visitation will be one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Randy Lee Winks
Randy Lee Winks, 40, of Henderson died April 9 in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 3, 1964, in Torrance, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was a warehouseman for the state.
He is survived by his wife, Jodi of Deer Park, Texas; one daughter, Jasmine Winks, and two sons, Cory Winks and Chase Winks, all of Las Vegas; his parents, Jerry Joe and Virginia Lee Winks, both of Henderson; and two brothers, Rick Joe Winks and Rodney Jay Winks, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation will be one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
