Peggy J. Branson

Peggy J. Branson, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Texas. A resident for 30 years, she was a head cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; one son, Herbert Milbrat II; and one brother, Jimmie Dale Grundy.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Alexandra 'Chana' Christensen

Alexandra "Chana" Christensen, 88, of Highlands Ranch, Colo., died Monday. A retired pharmacy co-owner-operator of Christensen Pharmacy, she was born June 28, 1916, in Ely.

She is survived by two sisters; two nieces including, Sharron Prusse of Littleton, Colo.; and one nephew.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to a 3:30 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Frank P. Harrison Jr.

Frank P. Harrison Jr., 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 10, 1938, in Fall River, Mass. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired mail carrier and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Masa; one son, Scott F. Harrison of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Karen J. Hawkins

Karen J. Hawkins, 52, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born July 14, 1952, in Cincinnati. A resident for 29 years, she was a public school teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Budweiser II; one daughter, Victoria Hawkins, and one son, Budweiser Hawkins III, both of Las Vegas; her parents, Eugene B. and Lillian Dotson of Columbus, Ohio.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Mary Hutchison

Mary Hutchison, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Byron, Ill. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired hospital nurse's aide.

She is survived by one son, Ken Ledene Jr. of Pahrump; and two daughters, Diane Standberg of Las Vegas and Dawn Kurywchak of Tempe, Ariz.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jimmie Warren Lopez

Jimmie Warren Lopez, 54, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 22, 1950, in Gary, Ind. A resident for 13 years, he was a tennis coach for the Clark County School District, a member of the National Tennis Association and the U.S. Professional Tennis Association and was featured in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd."

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; his mother, Irene; and four sisters, Camille Ferguson, Sharon Kirtland, Carolyn Lowe and Denise Farley.

Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

John R. Marquez

John R. Marquez, 70, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 3, 1934. A resident for four years, he was a crew leader at a garlic factory,

He is survived by his wife, Belia; two sons, John Marquez Jr. of Las Vegas and David Marquez of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Sandra Payan and Sylvia Waring, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Leonard 'Mac' McConnell

Leonard "Mac" McConnell, 98, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 13, 1906, in London, Ontario. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired painter and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Bob McConnell of Nova Scotia; one sister, Madeline Henderson of London; and one nephew, John McConnell of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Victor Andrew McGookin

Victor Andrew McGookin, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. A production manager for a heat-treating plant, he was born Sept. 18, 1938, in New Jersey.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; two sons, Victor McGookin and Patrick McGookin; one daughter, Patricia of Washington state; one stepson, Art Misquez, and two stepdaughters, Helen Arnold and Kathy Garrett, all of California; three sisters, Janet of Pennsylvania, Grace of Florida and Victoria of Nevada; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

LouEtta 'Lou' McKoy

LouEtta 'Lou' McKoy, 57, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 12, 1947, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, she was an owner-operator of an importer company and real estate company, a co-founder of Blackjack Fireworks and a member of the Children's Advocacy Alliance.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; three sons, Anthony Michael McKoy, Frank J. McKoy Jr. and Timothy Allen McKoy, all of Henderson; her mother, Mary Rose Sackinger of Buffalo; three sisters, Katherine Ann Andolina of Jacksonville, Fla., Rebecca Rose Dellapenta and Tammy Jean Wisniewski, both of Buffalo; two brothers, Willis Leo Sackinger Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Gregory Joseph Sackinger of Buffalo; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Stephen A. Odynecky

Stephen A. Odynecky, 72, of Henderson died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 4, 1933, in Fall River, Mass. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired supervisor at a rubber thread company.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie; and two sisters, Kathryn Whitworth of Dartmouth, Mass., and Sophie Trafka of Somerset, Mass.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Theresa Pearce Rather

Theresa Pearce Rather, 94, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. She was born Sept. 24, 1910, in Washington, Utah. A resident for 61 years, she was a retired schoolteacher, born to a pioneer family in Washington, and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Pixton.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas B. Rather Jr. of Las Vegas and John D. Rather of Park City, Utah; one son-in-law, Robert Pixton of Albuquerque; 20 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Sandstone Stake, 6100 W. Alta Blvd. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Washington City Cemetery.

Kenneth E. Reid

Kenneth E. Reid, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born May 15, 1933, in Illinois. A resident for 60 years, he was a retired pipefitter and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Clegg of Henderson and Diane Lichtenberger of Las Vegas; one son, Everett Lones of Salem, Ore.; one brother, Bruce Reid of Boulder City; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Rita Sawicki

Rita Sawicki, 63, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 30, 1941, in Lackawanna, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired insurance agent and a member of the Eagles.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Rae Paravia of Las Vegas and Joy Conway of Henderson; one son, Jay Sawicki of Westminster, Colo.; two sisters, Ella Galvez of Lackawanna and Noreen McElroy of Henderson; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday with a 5 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.

Mitchell Weaver

Mitchell Weaver, 45, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 23, 1960, in California. A resident for 11 years, he was a plumber.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Elms; three sons, Joseph Surber, Jacob Surber and Justin Surber, all of Boulder City; his mother, Marcia Baumbach of Buchanan Dam, Texas; three sisters; and four brothers.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
