Neil Kiefer, chief executive of Hooters Casino Hotel and Michael Hessling, chief operating officer, talked about plans for the Hooters-brand property following a groundbreaking ceremony for the $130 million renovation of the Hotel San Remo on Tuesday. Calling the project "delightfully tacky yet unrefined," officials said the Hooters Casino Hotel will debut in February with eight new restaurants and bars including a Dan Marino's Fine Food and Spirits, Pete and Shorty's Sports Book and Bar, Hooters Beach Club and 24-hour Owl's Nest Cafe. The property's casino and 700-plus hotel rooms also will be remodeled with an updated Hooters look.
