New home prices top $300,000

The median price of a new house in the Las Vegas Valley reached $304,700 in March, an increase over February when the median price was $286,805, research firm SalesTraq reported Monday. Both numbers do not include apartment-to-condo conversions, which are classified as new home sales, SalesTraq reported.
When apartment-to-condo conversions are included into the equation, the median price of a new house in March was $291,000, SalesTraq reported.
The median price of an existing house in March reached $265,000, a slight increase over February when the median price was $261,500, the company reported.
