Letter: Better education, high-paying jobs key to funding

Recent attacks on AARP over its stand on Social Security are unwarranted. Some detractors say AARP is jeopardizing our future. AARP doesn't ignore America's future, but Congress and the president do. The primary issues about securing our country's future should not be focused on Social Security and Medicare.
The real issues focus on eliminating costly illegal immigration and federal pork-barrel spending while improving education and creating millions of high-paying, skilled jobs, which we are, or soon will be, losing to foreign countries.
Solve this education/jobs problem and you indirectly solve the funding problems of Social Security and Medicare.
