Cirque artist writes of ‘Dreams’
Friday, April 15, 2005 | 8:42 a.m.
After a chance meeting with a trapeze artist outside a club in Amsterdam, writer Mark Schreiber became mesmerized and followed Olga Sidrova, the 27-year-old Russian performer in Cirque du Soleil's "Saltimbanco," to Barcelona, Vienna and Brussels.
In the 318-page "Dreams of the Solo Trapeze: Offstage with the Cirque du Soleil," Schreiber details Sidrova's circus life, their friendship and what life is like living and performing with the Montreal-based circus company, ending with a trip to Las Vegas where he helps two performers find an apartment.
On Thursday, Schrieber will sign copies of the book at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 8915 W. Charleston Blvd.
