Redmond replaces Fenton at Foothill

Foothill High School has hired defensive coordinator Marty Redmond as its new head football coach.
Redmond was the Falcons' defensive coordinator for all six years since the school opened. Before that, he was an assistant at Eldorado.
"We interviewed, we had some good candidates, but Marty was the guy," said Foothill athletic director J.D. Fraser. "The program will stay the same pretty much. Marty's learned a lot under Ray. He'll put his own wrinkles in and his own signature, but he'll have the same type of program where behavior means something. He'll have the same discipline things."
Redmond replaces Ray Fenton, who last month announced he was leaving Foothill after six years to coach at Cypress, his alma mater in the Los Angeles area.
