Nevada to share in drug settlement
Thursday, April 7, 2005 | 9:35 a.m.
Nevada will share in a 50-state, $36 million antitrust settlement with drug maker Organon USA Inc and its parent company Azko Nobel N.V.
The lawsuit alleged that the company unlawfully extended its monopoly by improperly listing a new patent for Remeron, an antidepressant, with the Food and Drug Administration.
The settlement must still be approved by a judge before it becomes final, officials with the attorney general's office for Nevada said.
Nevadans who purchased Remeron between June 15, 2001, and January 25, 2005, may be entitled to a portion of the settlement. Consumers wanting a claim form and more information about the settlement can call 1-866-401-6807 or visit www.RemeronSettlement.com.
