CARSON CITY -- A complaint charging a conflict of interest against Richard W. Truesdell, vice chairman of the Las Vegas Planning Commission, has been dismissed by a panel of the state Ethics Commission for lack of evidence.
Lee W. Haynes filed the two-count complaint against Truesdell for his vote on two issues involving properties in which he had an interest. He said Truesdell failed to disclose his interest and may have profited from his vote.
The two-member panel Thursday accepted the recommendation of Commission Executive Director Stacy Jennings that "just and sufficient cause does not exist" to send the case to the full commission for a hearing.
Jennings said the allegation of a conflict was "speculative" and Truesdell was not obligated to disclose his interests in property in two different votes.
The commission's panel was composed of Commissioners Caren Jenkins of Carson City and George Keele of Minden.
