Caesars Entertainment Inc. said today it will move into the publishing arena with a lifestyle and gaming magazine that will ultimately be sold on newsstands and through subscription sales.
Caesars Player, developed in conjunction with Miami Beach-based Onboard Media, will be distributed in the company's hotel rooms in Las Vegas and Atlantic City and mailed to some 100,000 of its customers. The first issue will debut in July and the magazine will publish three times per year.
Onboard Media, which develops shopping promotions for cruise lines and casino resorts, will also produce a Web site and a Caesars Player television program that will launch soon after the magazine for viewing in Caesars properties.
The magazine will "cover a broad range of topics including a monthly celebrity cover story along with regular entertainment, casino gaming and other topics of interest to the discerning tastes of its readers," Caesars said. The magazine will build on the Caesars brand and will "undoubtedly become the premier magazine of its kind," Caesars Senior Vice President of Marketing Stephen Rosen said in a statement.
With national distribution and a circulation starting at 170,000, the publication is expected to compete with other major upscale lifestyle magazines, Onboard Media Chief Operating Officer Robert Eichner said.
"The power and strength of the Caesars brand name resonates with readers and makes an immediate statement of credibility," Eichner said in a statement.
