Light the Night walks set Saturday
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will hold its Light the Night national fund-raising evening walk of 2-3 miles at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, south of Interstate 215 on Green Valley Parkway, and at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hills Park, Hillpointe Avenue and Rampart Boulevard in Summerlin.
Walkers will carry illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate the lives of those affected by cancer, white balloons for cancer survivors and red balloons for all other participants.

Wheelchair day events are planned
Wheelchair Foundation Day will be held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Hot Rod Grille, 1231 American Pacific Drive, Henderson.
The event will include a wheelchair race, monster wheelchair competition, silent auction and a car show.
Admission is free.

Agassi club will host resource fair
Boys and Girls Clubs of Las Vegas and Nevada Youth Alliance will host Community Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Andre Agassi Boys and Girls Club, 800 N. Martin Luther King Blvd.
The event is part of the Initiating Community Action N' Neighborhoods program, a partnership developed by the Southern Nevada Gang Prevention Task Force and BGCLV that encourages community support of positive alternatives to gang activity.
Neighborhood families are invited to participate in the fair.

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension,
along with the Las Vegas Parks and Leisure Services and the Doolittle Community Center, will be offering a Babysitting Certification workshop from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday for youth 12-18 at the Doolittle Center, 1950 N. J St. For more information, call 257-5568.
Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence
will hold its 11th annual Statewide Domestic Violence Conference, "Open Minds Open Doors," beginning with registration at 11 a.m. Monday, and at 8 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Texas Station. Access the registration information at www.nnadv.org.
The North Las Vegas Library
is now offering a family storytime event at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas. Along with stories, the program will include crafts and other activities for the entire family. All storytimes are free, and no registration is required. Call 633-1070.
