Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 | 9:41 a.m.
A remote-piloted drone aircraft made a hard landing at Indian Springs Air Force Auxiliary Feild Wednesday afternoon.
The MQ-1 Predator was assigned to Nellis Air Force Base's 11th Reconnaissance Squadron. It landed hard at the auxiliary field during a routine training mission about 1:20 p.m., Nellis officials said.
The amount of damage to the aircraft, that costs about $3.3 million, was not immediately known. A board of officers will investigate the crash.
