A bank account has been opened for the six women who were attacked early Thursday morning while celebrating a birthday at Shadow Rock Park near Sunrise Mountain.
The women were wrapping up the party around 3 a.m. when they crossed paths with a man with a baseball bat and his three friends. After exchanging a few words, the man attacked the women with the aluminum bat.
A woman who was with the man joined in on the attack, choking one of the women and pulling her hair, while the bat-wielding man punched a victim in the face.
Two of the women were taken to University Medical Center for serious injuries on their head and face.
Because of their injuries, some of the women will not be able to return to work for at least a month, Natashia Hights said. One of the women, who was studying criminal justice at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, was forced to drop her classes on doctors' orders, Hights said.
"We have all missed work at our waitress jobs, and a couple of us will be missing work for a month," Hights said. "And with prescriptions and everything, things are adding up."
Donations can be made through US Bank at routing number 121201694 with account number 153751369783 or by check, money order or cash to the Park Victims Donation, P.O. Box 60426, Las Vegas, NV, 89160.
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Metro at 229-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
