MDA to benefit from 'doughnates'
Now through Oct. 1, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts locations are selling "doughnate" cards, for families in the community with neuromuscular disease.
The cards allow purchasers to buy one dozen doughnuts and get one dozen free, up to 12 times. Proceeds from the card sales will go to the Southern Nevada Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and will help provide services for the 439 families in the community affected by muscular dystrophy.

Peacemaker dinner scheduled Thursday
As part of Nevada Mediation Week activities, Family Court Judge Steven Jones will be the featured speaker at the 2004 Peacemaker of the Year Awards Dinner Thursday at Texas Station.
The event is sponsored by Mediators of Southern Nevada. The dinner will recognize people who have made a contribution to alternative dispute resolution in the community.

CCSN will host New Music Festival
The third annual International New Music Festival will begin at 3 p.m. Friday and at noon Saturday and Sunday at Community College of Southern Nevada, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.
The festival is free and open to the public.
Returning are F. Gerard Errante, internationally acclaimed clarinetist, and innovative piano/percussion duo Conundrum.

North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce
will hold an awards luncheon for police, fire and EMS professionals throughout the valley at 11 a.m. Thursday at Texas Station. Tickets are $30 for prepaid reservation; $35 for unpaid; $40 at the door. Call 642-9595.
Local theatre company Endless Productions
will present a dramatic reading of Fiddler's Green at 7 p.m. Friday at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is free. Call 656-4498.
