The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, which is jointly owned by MGM MIRAGE and Mandalay Resort Group, recently completed a hotel room remodeling effort that includes high-speed Internet access, 27-inch televisions and an updated decor.
The renovations, completed a month ahead of the original September deadline, cost $19 million. Expenses will be split between the companies.
The makeover of the property's 2,791 rooms includes pillow-top mattresses, new bedding, draperies, wall coverings and refinished furniture. The property opened in 1996.
Any capital improvement project requires approval of both MGM MIRAGE and Mandalay, which each own a half interest in the Monte Carlo, a spokeswoman said.
