Letter: Nastiness lessens U.S. credibility

How do we expect any credibility in the world and in our own government when the infighting in this election has become so desperate and hateful and is fueled by our own countrymen?
No matter who comes to the Oval Office, how can the next president's reputation be credible after these attacks? Politicians and the media need to wake up to the fact that most of us are tired of listening to this hateful garbage.
