Members of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 711 agreed to extend its labor contract with the Las Vegas Valley's major grocers.
The labor contract that represents about 6,000 grocery workers would have expired on Sunday, but was extended to Nov. 1, allowing the union to continue negotiating with Albertsons, Smith's, Vons and Food 4 Less.
The union declined to comment on their demands and how the negotiations are going.
The UFCW union has been negotiating with the grocery chains in Northern California for a contract that affects about 35,000 workers at 532 stores.
The UFCW had a 4 1/2 month strike in Southern California over wages and health care benefits.
