LV sends letter of termination

Las Vegas sent a termination letter Monday to the businessmen behind CenterStaging, following a report given to City Council in early August that indicated the project was not progressing.
The CenterStaging group has 10 days from receipt of the letter to respond to the termination notice.
The West Las Vegas project had been touted by city officials as a major achievement that would create a $17 million soundstage and television studio and generate millions in wages and taxes. The businessmen were to hire at least 47 people at hourly wages of $12 to $15 an hour. If CenterStaging fulfilled its obligations, the city was to give the company the five-acre property for $10.
However, the city on July 23 sent a registered letter of default to the company's Burbank, Calif., offices, claiming the company failed to meet deadlines going back to December for submitting drawings and starting construction at the site, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Mount Mariah Drive.
