Projects benefiting from land sales

Programs approved by the secretary of the interior and announced Thursday, as outlined in a summary used by local government entities seeking funds:
$9 million to secure right-of-way in Henderson for a project using railroad land to connect the city to a spot just north of Lake Mead Parkway. Another $27.5 million would go toward construction of the 5-mile corridor.
$5.5 million for North Las Vegas to create a "community special events park" in the geographic center of the city. About $2.5 million will go toward purchase of the 7-acre plot.
$13.7 million for Clark County to buy approximately 6.05 miles of the Henderson branch of the Union Pacific Railroad for a regional light rail system and a landscaped recreational trail. Another $10.5 million would go toward construction of the trail.
$1.6 million for of Henderson to enhance the existing park, adding parking areas, trails, viewing areas and fencing.
$1 million for Clark County the build a trailhead where River Mountains Loop Trail enters the park.
$3.94 million for Henderson to build a trailhead and neighborhood park as a connector from neighborhoods to the Anthem Trails and into Sloan Canyon.
$36.2 million to Las Vegas for the 50-acre phase of a 95-acre regional park in northwest Las Vegas.
