A California resident and a Las Vegas teen were killed Wednesday night at the corner of Hualapai Way and Sahara Avenue, police said.
Another California man, Phillip Kim, 43, and 19-year-old Las Vegas resident Danny McGraw remained in moderate condition this morning after the 2004 Lexus IS300 driven by Kim was struck by another car that failed to stop at the intersection.
According to police, the car, a 2000 Cadillac Catera driven by 19-year-old Frank Chelli, did not stop at a red light and struck the Lexus as it moved into the intersection about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Two of Kim's passengers, a 47-year-old California resident and a 15-year-old Las Vegan whose names were not released this morning, were taken to University Medical Center, where they died. Chelli suffered minor injuries.
Metro Police detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. This year there have been 114 traffic deaths in Las Vegas and unincorporated Clark County, according to the department.
