The Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies at UNLV will present its "Lieder Award" for 2004 to the American Nevada Company at a banquet Saturday.
The Lieder Award is presented annually to an individual or company that exemplifies excellence in real estate development.
Debra March, executive director of the institute, said American Nevada's contributions to the local real estate industry and the quality of life in Southern Nevada are "unparalleled."
Founded by the late Hank Greenspun in 1974, American Nevada is a developer of master-planned communities and commercial properties in Southern Nevada.
The Greenspun family owns the Las Vegas Sun.
Phil Ralston, executive vice president of American Nevada, will accept the award.
This is the fifth year the Lied Institute has presented the Lieder Award. Prior recipients were Robert Lewis, Irwin Molasky, the Howard Hughes Corp., and Del Webb.
